Join us for a whirlwind practice series as we find out what it means to be present, compassionate, and gently persistent with ourselves. Combining spiritual and therapeutic trauma-sensitive mindfulness exercise, we’ll ask some tough questions. How can I love my queer body? How can I sit with the hard things? Who do I turn to when my inner wisdom isn’t enough? Side by side, we’ll do the work of healing ourselves and extending that healing to the collective.
Participants pay as close as they can to the base fee.
My name is Nino Winterbottom. I'm a nonbinary therapist, group facilitator, and spiritual counselor. I see my work as a calling to help people identify sources of purpose and meaning in their lives. I began my training as a humanist looking to reach other nonreligious people who longed for more profound connection to themselves and the world. As I've gravitated towards Buddhist spiritual practice, I've realized how profound meditative exercises can be for queer people of all kinds of cultural and spiritual backgrounds. I believe that when we experience embodiment and empowerment, we contribute to the healing of past, present, and future generations.
I am a graduate of Fordham University's mental health counseling and spiritual integration program. I'm a therapist (MHC-LP) in private practice and nonprofit school-based services. I've completed training S.A.F.E. EMDR, DBT, and Gottman couples therapy. I also co-host a biweekly queer sangha in PLG/Flatbush.
