NOTE: Possibly available in April too or an April home swap with someone in Los Angeles.
Clean, comfortable 1BR furnished apartment on tree-lined block in Cobble Hill/Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. Our renovated second-floor apartment is one of eight co-op units in a four-story walk-up building in Brownstone Brooklyn. (No garden or roof access.) The neighbors are all courteous, quiet, and respectful; we ask that you be the same. The apartment is neat, clean, and trouble-free. Great neighborhood to explore, shop, eat, and drink, but we have plenty of music, movies, and books that will tempt you to stay indoors. Pets are not allowed; nonsmokers preferred (no smoking inside).
Efficient kitchen with all the pots, pans, and cooking utensils a home chef will need. Sub-Zero refrigerators/freezer and DeLonghi stove/oven. (Sorry, no dishwasher.)
Wide assortment of restaurants, bars, and shops, plus an indie cinema steps away on Smith and Court Streets; gourmet market at end of block. Short walk to F & G subway lines — 10 minutes to Manhattan, 10 minutes to Park Slope and Prospect Park. Citi Bike docking station a block away. Fifteen-minute walk to Instagram-friendly views of Manhattan from Brooklyn Bridge Park (soccer, beach volleyball, basketball, pickle ball, nature piers) and famous Brooklyn Heights Promenade. Twenty-minute walk to BAM Cultural District and Barclays Center. Twenty-five minute walk to once-gritty, now-gentrifying, still-fun Red Hook artists' enclave.
Utilities included in price, however, $100 cleaning fee is required.
I'm a documentary filmmaker and magazine editor who will be working in Los Angeles during this period. My live-in girlfriend, a writer-editor in corporate communications, will be accompanying me.
