We own a lovely two-family home in the Hudson Valley, about 15 minutes from the Hudson River. Our ground level one-bedroom apartment is fully renovated with a modern IKEA kitchen and spa bathroom with a radiant heated floor. Tenants have access to a large laundry room in the adjacent garage and one indoor parking space. The garage has an automatic door opener. All utilities, including water, heat, electricity and high-speed WIFI are included in the rental fee. The apartment is designed for full accessibility.

The private apartment has one large bedroom with two closets and a queen size bed. The adjacent spacious living area features a couch, dining area and Smart TV. Tenants are welcome to enjoy our one-acre, wooded backyard. The apartment is within walking distance to enjoy miles of beautiful trails in the Blue Mountain Reserve. The house is located on a country road between two public schools.

I'm an independent film producer and teacher. My husband is a retired teacher and former magazine copy editor.

We welcome a someone with one indoor cat who is seeking a quiet place to live and work, yet they can still be at Grand Central Terminal in less than an hour from two nearby train stations. No smoking inside.

There are many shops, grocery stores and restaurants nearby. Having a car is ideal, but not necessary.

About This Lister

I'm an independent film and TV producer working on a global television show about remarkable women in history whose accomplishments have not been recognized. I teach film classes at Brooklyn College and workshops about the entertainmnt industry for film-related organizations.

My husband is a retired teacher and editor. We live upstairs and respect the tenant's right to a quiet living situation. The tenants have a private entrance to the apartment through the garage and a second private entrance through the backyard.

We own the home and I'm the primary contact person for potential tenants. Our previous tenant was a physical therapy assistant at the local medical center.

Rental requirements

We will conduct a basic credit check and a $1000 deposit, which includes a $150 non-refundable cleaning fee. Tenants will be asked to sign a three-month lease with the option to renew on a month-to-month basis.

Pets Policy

One indoor cat would be allowed, but our unfenced yard would not accommodate a dog. A pet fee of $150 would be required.
