Hey all!
My name is Cole. I've been living in the East Village for the last year, and due to a sudden rent hike, I'm looking into how it could work to move to another apartment in the neighborhood. There are a lot of 2 bedroom apartments in the neighborhood that are available for approx $1500 per room ($2800 - $3200 total), and I'm looking to find someone else who is interested in living in a 2 bed in the neighborhood.
I love the history of the East Village. I have a lot of books and I love the presence of culture nearby - great coffee shops, food on St Marks, bookstores, music venues, and more. I want to create a beautiful living space!
As a roommate, I'm pretty low-key. I have a recording studio in Ridgewood, so most of my music-making takes place outside of the apartment. When I do teach online/from home, the volume level is very low - I'm playing an unamplifed electric guitar and speaking quietly, into a laptop.
I'm looking for a January 1st move date, or possibly earlier, if necessary.
I use he and they pronouns.
Let's connect! Hope to talk to you soon!
As of July, I'm 30 years old, and would love to live with other people in their late 20's/30's. I'm a musician - I'm kind of a songwriter, producer, avant-garde composer, electronic music-maker, sound artist, guitarist, all at once. I've run concert series, released two records, scored a film, and done a lot of other things along the way. Before NYC, I lived in Boston for 5 years, where I attended New England Conservatory; before that, I went to Oberlin College for 2 years. I grew up in Central Maine.
I'm a guitar teacher for money and I'm working on building an online music-teaching business, which is taking up a lot of my time and energy right now.
I'm also a huge reader (philosophy, literature, theory, art, books about cinema, and also more recently business books hahaha), and love art films, coffee, and cooking. In the colder seasons I go running 3ish times per week. I love hanging out at Abraço and going to Mast Books.
I'm in a relationship with a really incredible person, and she also lives in the neighborhood.
