Thank you for considering sharing my long-time home. It is completely furnished, from linens to forks.

This one-bedroom, private space features tin ceilings and lots of love. This is a peaceful building, where neighbors value having somewhere to wind down. Concert venues, art happenings, bookstores, cafes, and all that Bushwick nightlife are blocks away (even on this block), so there are opportunities to be social.

I'm looking for someone conscientious and communicative to be here in my stead. It's a no-shoes, non-smoking, tidy place. I'm careful about unsealed food scraps left out (this is NYC) and noise in the hallway. It's a wonderful place to recharge, reset, create, and nourish yourself. Couples are OK.

This apartment is on the courtyard side of the building, so it's quiet. It is on the second floor, with no elevator. There are also steps to access the building.

The building is over 110 years old, which has so much charm but isn't very sleek, and a couple quirks that have solutions. Are we describing ourselves or an apartment?

A block away is a 24-hour grocery store and late-night laundromat. Steps away is a decently-priced, well-stocked mini-grocery that is open late. Plenty of bodegas all around, and very close to a big discount store, hardware store, and the best tamales in the world.

8-10 minute walk to L or J/M/Z. Restaurants abound, from affordable neighborhood places to the kind the NY Times writes about. A large, very well-loved park is around the corner. This place is the center of my heart.

Kitchen: Well-equipped, if not high-tech. This room has the windows. Plenty of plants to please water, a gas oven / stove, and morning light. Large table, decoupaged by me. Almost every kitchen utensil you'd want to cook, but no appliances beyond the fridge, a slow-cooker, rice cooker, immersion blender, food ninja, and clothes iron.

Bedroom: Has a closet and chest of drawers, queen bed with Tempur-pedic *style* mattress. A folding desk is available, if you work from home. Hardwood floors, tin ceiling.

Bathroom: Renovated by me, plenty of hot water.

About This Lister

I'm a filmmaker, writer, and poet. A bit of a weirdo, but gentle. Understanding of most human situations, as long as there's honesty and mutual respect. I will be traveling for the duration of this sublet, able to be reached for most of it - and I have friends nearby who can come over if there are issues.
This is my home.

Lister's Relationship to the Space

I'm the tenant.
