Right off West Side Park, on the dappled Edgar Allan Poe Street. It's a 3rd floor walkup, perfectly placing the apartment among the treetops. The street is wide, giving privacy despite the ceiling high south facing windows.

The apartment is also only a 10-15 min walk to central Park.

While the space is only 420 sq feet, the tall ceiling, thoughtful open layout and clever furnishing give the space a bigger feel.

The main space is open plan 15.5 x 20, and is the bedroom, living and office all in one. We dine at the coffee table or our desks.

The kitchen and bathroom are separate, with the kitchen leading to the bathroom.

The kitchen is small but comfortable and well-stocked. We cook all our meals at home, and we even host 4-6 people most Sundays.

With the park basically on our doorstep, our favorite mode of transport usually involves city bike down the riverside water front trail or through central park. The 1 train is a few blocks away and the 2,3,A,B & C are all within a 12 minute walk.

Two stops away on the 1 train, you will find Trader Joe's, Fairway, and H-Mart. Within a few blocks, you will find Key Foods and Broadway Market.

There is a laundromat a few blocks away with both drop service and self-serve options.

There is also a cinema two blocks away with seats that go all the way back!

The area is quiet, and you will see a lot of poodles, grey hair, and families with young children. The street is particularly quiet and far from any foot traffic. That is why we call it the Cabin in the Trees; the nature and serenity are rejuvenating. We feel we get the best of both worlds: only 20 minutes on a subway and you are in the vibrant bustle of Greenwich Village.

Our space doesn't have storage. We will make space for your clothes, clear the desks and more, but if you are traveling with more than three suitcases then this is not the space for you.

We endeavor to leave the space sparkling clean. Keep in mind this is a lived in space and a very old building so it will never feel as clean as a hotel or newly renovated airbnb.

About This Lister

My partner and I live in this space together. We are queer, and we are artists. I make films, and my partner illustrates. We are scrappy; we have worked hard to make this space feel inspiring and beautiful with very little... always looking for secondhand steals. Lee loves to cook, and I love to come in at the last minute and adjust all the spices. Lee is a very imaginative, hilarious golden retriever type, and I'm the deep, sincere one who will give you unsolicited advice. We are both altruistic and champion and support everyone we meet.

Rental requirements

This is a short sublet for a week while we are out of town. We are also looking to sublet for 3-6 months to the right person. For the long-term sublet, the dates are flexible, but we need at least a month's notice to organize and book our trip OS.

Queer ourselves, we won't discriminate on the basis of race, sexuality, gender, or disability. Having said that, this space is not designed for anyone with mobility issues.

Multiple interviews may be required.

Proof of income and a credit check may be required.

One month's rent and security deposit are due upfront.
