Looking for the perfect Williamsburg spot that's NOT a new soulless condo and NOT a dingy railroad apt? Then sublet my one-bedroom garden apartment in the heart of Williamsburg with original hardwood floors, exposed brick, high tin ceilings. Conveniently located right on top of the Lorimer L and G train. Cozy. Tidy. Books.
Availability + Cost
Option 1 short-term: The apt is available now through March 16 at $600 a week.
Option 2 long-term: It will be available the end of March for a longer-term sublet through the end of Summer or next Fall at the price of 2250 a month plus utilities.
The Space
This is a ground floor apartment. There is a bedroom with a full queen bed (Yoga Bed memory foam mattress) and large dresser, the large living room has a wooden futon (that doesn’t look like one), coffee table and two desks, a full kitchen, a small foyer, and an old-fashioned bathroom with tub.
While it is on the ground floor, it is very quiet for the location as it is set in the back and looks onto a private patio (sorry, you will not have access to the garden). There are 4 steps to get into the building.
Kitchen has the basics for you to prepare meals. Cotton towels and sheets provided or you can bring your own bedding.
The Neighborhood
The locale offers conveniences like Whole Foods, Trader Joes etc 7 min walk to Bedford area. There's a gourmet grocery right on the same block and a 24 hr laundromat a block away. 5 block walk to McCarren park
Getting Around
You can take the L or G train right at the apartment. The JMZ is a short walk. If you're up for a longer walk (and fresh air these days) the Williamsburg bridge is close. Also, there is street parking if you're driving.
Use
I’d prefer it be rented by one person. Absolutely no parties.
Maintenance
I am next door in case of emergencies. Recent subtenant just said it was their favorite apartment in 10 yrs in NYC ;)
Application process
If you are interested write me with a little about yourself + the following info. Then I will share a video walkthrough with people that best fit needs. For short-term, I will only do IRL walkthru for those wanting to take it after viewing video
Please share the following. I will not reply to inquiries without this info!
-Tell me about yourself! Brief bio
-What your ideal timeframe within the windows provided?
-Why are you looking to sublet at this time/have you lived in NYC before?
-Share some URLs to show me who you are online. I am not on IG or Linkedin, so non-social media links are ideal
Note: I will need to check a personal reference. This can be someone you rented from or a co-worker I can call to verify your character, respectful use of space, and ability to pay rent
Thank you! Please note that due to amount of inquires I get, while I'd like to reply to everyone, I may not reply if the apartment is already sublet/etc
I'm an art curator/educator based in NYC and have lived in Williamsburg, Brooklyn for 23 yrs in this apt. I sublet when I travel for work/art projects. I am clean and domestic--many have remarked that my place feels surprisingly like a home, which can be a rarity in the city.
Current tenant
I will require a deposit and reference. I am pricing it under market for the space and furnishings. In return, that the renter be a discrete with my landlord and take good care of my home and belongings. I can't accept pets or most care animals due to allergies.
