Rooms for Rent

$1,166/month

Location

Park Slope, Brooklyn

Available

January 1, 2025

Hi!

We're looking to fill one bedroom in our beautiful 3-bedroom apartment in Park Slope. The room is available for a long term lease starting January 1st, and we are hoping to schedule interviews immediately to find someone within the next few days due to the holidays.

About the area:

The apartment is on the 2nd floor, a true 3-bedroom and 1-bath, spacious kitchen and separate living/dining room in a 3-floor building on a beautiful tree-lined street in Park Slope. The only other tenants live above us, so no need to worry about disturbing downstairs neighbors.

It is just 3 avenues from Prospect Park, and 1 ave and 2 blocks from the 7th Ave F/G stop and the 4th/9th St R stop in the other direction. There is also a Citibike dock nearby! This excellent location is right next to lots of restaurants, coffee shops, bars, supermarkets, YMCA and the public library.

About the room:

The rent for the room is $1,166, with utilities (internet, electricity, heat, and gas) averaging $60 to $140 per person, depending on the season. You’ll sign an addendum to the current lease on your move-in date, with the option to renew for a full 12-month lease starting May 1, 2025. Deposit of 1 months rent is due upon signing.

The room is a 13’ x 10.5’ with 1 bay window with natural light and a separate walk-in closet across the hall. This bedroom comfortably fits a queen-sized bed, a dresser, a desk and TV, with room to spare. The separate walk-in closet is 7’ x 4’ with built-in shelving.

Who we’re looking for:

We are looking for a roommate with a steady income, clean and respectful; and happy to pitch into designated chores to keep the house comfortable. We would like someone who is also interested in keeping a calm, tidy home space.

We ask that you are LGBT friendly, and are conscientious of public health recommendations. We are mindful about having guests over and would ask that we communicate regularly. Though we are animal lovers our house is pet-free, sadly we cannot accept applicants with animals. Please share your vaccination status when you inquire.

About This Lister

About Us:

We’re two women in our mid-30s. One of us works as a studio manager with interior design, goes into the office five days a week, loves art, and enjoys dining out; she moved in this past April. The other has been here for 8 years, works from home in television post-production, and enjoys museums and films. One of us is a Park Slope Food Coop member, and we both value sustainable living—we compost and try to reuse whenever we can. We keep a tidy, reliable space and are looking for someone like-minded to share our home!

Applying for the Room:

Thanks for your interest! In your response, we’d love to learn a bit more about you so we can see if we’d be a good fit. Here’s what we’d like to know:

- Lifestyle & Habits: What’s your daily routine like? Any hobbies, cooking habits, or fun things you enjoy? How do you feel about keeping shared spaces tidy?
- Social Preferences: How often do you have guests? Do you prefer a quieter vibe or is noise less of a factor for you?
- Job/Finances: What do you do for work and what’s your usual work schedule? All applicants must share proof of income and credit score with our landlord.

Interview Process:
If you seem like a good fit, we’ll reach out to schedule an interview. We’ll send over a calendar link with 30-minute time slots, ideally interviewing right away, we know the holidays are kinda crazy!
