I am subletting my 1-bedroom apartment for the month of May. I live on the border of Prospect Heights and Crown Heights and love the neighborhood. The street I'm on is a quiet residential street between Franklin Ave and Classon Ave. Franklin Ave has tons of cafes, restaurants, and shops. There are 2 grocery stores, both within 1 block of my apartment, which is also great. If you walk 20 minutes west, you're at Flatbush Ave, and if you walk 15-20 minutes south you're at the Brooklyn Museum and Prospect Park. It's a great area to live in. You're in between the C stop on Franklin Ave and the 2/3/4/5 at Franklin Ave Medgar Evans College.
My apartment is a newer build with an elevator. I'm on the ground floor in the back of the building so it's incredibly quiet. You don't hear any street noises. There is a back patio area which is amazing. The apartment has a dishwasher and central air. There is a washer/dryer in the basement that you have to pay to use.
Furnished Situation: I am leaving the apartment furnished and leaving some of my personal items behind, such as kitchen appliances, dishes, books, movies for you to use. I will clear out a decent amount of my clothing, toiletries, and those types of personal items so you have room for your stuff but will leave some behind in a storage situation. In addition, I will leave behind kitchen staples like herbs, oils, flour, etc. for you to use, but clear out my regular food items, such as perishables, and so on. As you can see from the pics, I have about a dozen plants. I'm going to take the sensitive plants with me but I will ask you to water some of the ones I leave behind. I'll leave behind instructions and send reminder texts about those.
Logistics around Length of Stay and Money: I am willing to negotiate/talk about you moving in a little earlier as May 1 falls on a week day, but not staying later. This is a formal sublet done through my management company so you would pay the entirety of May to them through their online portal, then we would calculate and figure out a daily rate between the 2 of us if you arrive early. In addition, you would pay for the internet for the month (a flat $70), and the ConEd bill, which will depend on how much electricity/heat you use. I am asking for a $1,000 security deposit that I will hold onto and you will receive back after paying for the ConEd bill as that won't happen until after you leave the apartment.
I am a 34-year old who works in Finance and has been a New Yorker for over 10 years. I have some friends who are vacationing in Japan for most of May and have asked me to watch their dog during that time so I'll be in Brooklyn staying at their place. That means that if you need anything, I'm around! I have a great relationship with management, the super, and the other people in the building.

As this is done through my management company and is a formal sublet, you will have to technically apply to the management company. It's pretty easy and is done online. You will sign a formal sublet agreement with them and then you and I will sign an agreement about ConEd, security deposit, etc.
