This is a large open plan basement. It is bone dry with wooden walls and a concrete floor - perfect for one or two artists, makers or designers who need extra space but not a ton of natural light. There are windows at both ends of the room, lots of electric lights, and room for many more. There is a toilet, commercial sink and plenty of storage.
The building is an historic limestone townhouse set back from the street. Only half a block from Brooklyn College on a short residential street but just two blocks away from Target, the 2/5 trains, many bus and cycle routes and every convenience you could want on bustling Flatbush Ave such as grocery stores, clothing stores, great take out options, Starbucks, a variety of bodegas, pharmacies, etc. The neighbors are respectful, quiet, and friendly.
Water, gas, electric and heat are included.
We want to preserve the quiet and respectful atmosphere for our tenants and neighbors so please be very mindful of noise & odors. Absolutely no smoking, or toxic fumes or particles of any kind.
Absolutely no living or overnights in this space.
We will occasionally require access to the unit to service the boiler and furnace which are in a separate room at the back of the basement, and to check the gas and water meters.
My wife and I own the house and lived here for years. I am a musician and work for an arts organization, The Wassaic Project.
