Must love cats!
My beloved roommate is moving to LA and I am seeking someone to take her room.
I am looking for a funny and warm, animal-loving roommate to TRY to replace her (never!).
You would share the 3BR apartment with just me and my two adult cats. The 3RD bedroom is currently used as storage and office space. I WFH at my desk there a decent amount of time (and gaming!). I want to share the space with you—whether you need more storage, a desk, a shoe rack, I want to make sure the extra space serves us both!
Bedrooms are on opposite sides of the apartment—great privacy. I am a bath enjoyer—nice deep tub and great hot water.
Laundry in building, dishwasher in unit and central air. Very north of Crown Heights close to LIRR, C, and A, walkable to 2/3. Rent stabilized—rent will go up slightly monthly starting in June.
No elevator, walk up only. 3rd floor.
Building is quiet with kind neighbors in an active group chat. Available bedroom has a bay window and faces north. Large high school across the street—noisy school drop off on school days is helped by a white noise machine and/or heavy sleeping. Otherwise, the street is quiet.
The neighborhood is wonderful. We are short walks to the local library, a lovely park, coffee, restaurants, Blink, a city indoor pool, and more. However, nothing TOO temping is directly outside…nice on the wallet.
B43 arrives across the street for more access to Brooklyn.
A small but very functional kitchen—I like to cook!—complete with most tools, a fully furnished living room, and large TV.
I am a type-B person. I vacuum most days (Dyson but, ya know. Cats.), mop, and clean the bathroom once a week but feel comfortable leaving dishes in the sink overnight. I am a performing artist with a day job—my priorities are my creativity and wellbeing, and yours too! If you need to choose between a full night of sleep and a clean kitchen, choose the sleep. If you choose between eating a healthy breakfast and running out the door, or eating nothing and leaving no dishes? Choose the breakfast! I believe in a 24 hour mess policy, benefit of the doubt, generosity, and direct and kind communication.
I host parties infrequently, but roomies are always invited! More typically I will have 1-2 friends over for dinner or a platonic sleepover. I want my home to feel warm and inviting to my friends, families, and yours. SOs are welcome, friends who stay for a week, and family members!
I have two beloved cats, both very friendly. They will want to cuddle and spend as much time with you as you allow! They can be kept out of your room, if you so choose. The boy, especially, will sit on your lap and sleep with you. They do like to eat plants—plants will need to be wall mounted or very high up.
A progressive household. No additional pets (last cat foster I did hated my cats, caused chaos!)
Busy artist (she/her) in her late 20s balancing work and creative endeavors. I do stage and screen work, writing, and I sing (practice at home, never late or very early!)
I cook most of my meals and I am still close friends with the majority of roommates I’ve lived with since college!
My two biggest priorities are fuzzy and have four legs.
