Hello! I'm subletting a room in my 3 bedroom Bed-Stuy apartment from June 15/16th until August 31st. The apartment is located about a block away from Herbert Von King park and is nestled between the Bedford Nostrand (~3 blocks away) and Myrtle-Willoughby G stops (~5 blocks away). It is really a gem of an apartment and a great place to live, especially for someone who is looking to be in the heart of Brooklyn even for just a few months.
Looking for someone who is communicative, clean, and community minded to fill this space for the summer months. I have friends over for dinner or to hang out and watch a movie from time to time, so not opposed to visitors but would prefer nothing too rowdy.
Amenities include elevator, dishwasher, central A/C, washer/dryer in basement, and roof access. There is even a bathtub (rare!). There are multiple grocery stores and great food options, cafes, really whatever you need nearby. The Marcy Public Library is down the street, and there's even a (free!) public pool across the street that is open through September.
Utilities (electricity, gas, WiFi) can vary in the summer depending on A/C usage (thank you, Con Edison) but usually never exceeds $100 per person. Happy to limit AC use when possible!
I'm Emily (26, she/her, 420 friendly blah blah blah), I'm a native New Yorker and I currently work (hybrid) at a nonprofit specializing in humanitarian-based immigration legal services. I like to cook a lot and am generally pretty tame at home, I like my space to be comfortable, nurturing, and rejuvenating. My schedule becomes a little bit more flexible in the summer so I try to work from home as much as possible to take advantage of the summer weather.
I'm looking for someone who also appreciates a clean, relaxing, chill space but still enjoys socializing and doesn't mind the occasional visitor or friend hanging out in the apartment (I'll always let you know if someone is coming over!)
Current Tenant
I will ask for proof of identity, a good faith deposit for the second half of June ($542), and for your signature on a contract that we can make collaboratively (something that works for both of us!) to establish consensus.
Building has no pet policy, which is great! I am personally open to pets on a case-by-case basis, I love to live with animals but have lived some less than ideal situations with negligent pet owners in the past. Happy to explore options!
