I’m looking for a roommate to share a spacious top-floor apartment in a quiet two-story house. Great layout, natural light, extra closets, a shared backyard with garden, and beautiful vintage moulding and double kitchen sink. At least 5 months to a year.
LGBTQ friendly, shoe-free, smoke-free home.
*Your room is the empty one with the orange wall in photos 4 +5, I repainted it to green & off-white 3 months ago, in photo 6.
**Most of the furniture in these photos belongs to my current roommate. Although I will replace some of it, I welcome any/all input and we can make furnishing decisions together going forward. Would love to turn this into a great home for the both of us.**
🛏️ Your room:
Unfurnished room with two windows and a sizable closet. It’s approximately 12x9, which would fit a queen bed, dresser, and desk. If interested in sharing the third room as a home office, rent would be $1600 ($1450 otherwise).
🏠 The house:
We're on the top floor of an older house, the landlady is a retired professor living on the first floor. Really lovely family, they'll want to meet you if you move in. The house also has a small backyard and all the charms of an older home. No significant issues though, everything is well maintained, but the floors are creaky for example. No driveway.
🏙️ Neighborhood:
Located in the most diverse area of NYC, culturally rich with an endless variety of food options, especially known for Indian & Thai cuisines.
74th/Roosevelt station is down the block with E, F, M, R, 7 trains. 30 mins to Soho, 15 mins to Midtown, and a free bus to LaGuardia.
Plenty of supermarkets within walking distance. Nearby 34th Ave has a park, a Queens library location, and green market. 10min walk away from a Sephora, 17min away from the OG H-Mart in Woodside. There's also a Blink fitness 7min away.
27yo woman working in communications, spending my days mostly at my desk on calls. Love to read, write, watch movie downtowns, go to museums, take the train upstate. I'm vegetarian but don't mind it if you're not. I go out fairly often, but don't really bring people over to hang out. Thinking of hosting a dinner with friends once in a blue moon, but would rather we didn't host parties / large gatherings.
Looking for someone clean (*clean*) and thoughtful. I've lived with various roommates for many years and I like direct and clear communication.
