The bathroom is newly installed, as are the kitchen appliances. Sublet includes access to a full set of kitchenware, bed linens and towels.

The kitchen area features a dining table seating up to eight people, and a table by the window for morning coffee and contemplation.

Fast internet, central steam heating, good airflow with the windows open, fans and air conditioning units provided.

This apartment is an oasis of calm and freedom in the heart of the most exciting neighborhood in Manhattan. We are a 5 minute walk from Dimes, Essex Market, Metrograph, Clandestino, Abrons Art Center, many galleries and two bridges to Brooklyn.

NB. The apartment is located on the fourth floor of an old-school walkup with a windowless staircase that is not well maintained and smells of smoke. If you have mobility issues, are sensitive to dust, or would not consider it part of the charm, please consider another listing. I am available to help carrying heavy luggage up the stairs and into the apartment.

I work in the arts and stumbled into a habit of restoring early-1900 spaces in the Lower East Side. As described above, I live immediately next door to the listed apartment. In between sublets, this apartment hosts visiting friends and family.
