This space is great for a couple or a single person. Set up for 2 people to comfortably work from home. One bedroom has a king bed and desk, and the other bedroom is set up as an office. We're open to renting to all sorts of folks! The space isn't really set up for kids, though. We have always had great relationships with tenants previously and try to be very accessible, responsive, and communicative. We'd love to rent to someone who was clean and respectful of our space, honest, and also communicative/willing to let us know if something went wrong in the space. It is more important to us to find someone we feel like we can trust than to someone who can pay the exact price. We'd love to rent to someone who could enjoy the space and the neighborhood as well.
Potential bonus – we just got an acoustic piano in the living room (not pictured - the keyboard is no longer in the office) - and you're welcome to play it! We also have a brand new emerald green couch that is large and very comfy, in place of the older brown one.
We're happy to send more photos, a video of the space, FaceTime you through, show you in person, or chat on the phone!
My partner and I have owned this home for 3 years (our first home) and this is our primary home for the majority of the year. We rent a space in New Orleans for the winter months and while we are there, we sublet our home, furnished.
We're a couple in our 30s with two fluffy cats who travel with us. We both work in creative and political fields. We've put a lot of love into the home and we like to think it is cozy! We keep the house clean and deep clean the home professionally before we sublet. When we leave, we clean out closets, under sinks, etc of personal items and store elsewhere. But, we do leave our books, art, kitchenware, sheets/towels, blankets, etc for the comfort of tenants.
We both work from home, and this space is set up for working remotely – there is a desk in the bedroom, and the second bedroom is set up like an office with a large standing desk. The space would work great for a single person or a couple!
We love the neighborhood. We have great relationships with neighbors, and it is walking distance from parks, bars, restaurants, and easy access to the mountains with a car.
Pets are allowed depending on the pet and if we can have a conversation about them ahead of time. We've rented to folks with dogs before and have had mostly great experiences, but one nightmare experience with a puppy, so we'd just ask to hear a little bit more about your pup before committing. We're open to having a convo about cats in the space but slightly more hesitant since we have two that live here 8-9 months out of the year who are a bit territorial.
Also open to discussing pricing and timing with the right tenant!
We'd be the contact people while you're living here, but my parents live very close by and they act as property managers/emergency contacts.
owner/landlord
This is our home most of the year and we rent it out during winter months. Because of this, we'd like to have a conversation with prospective tenants to make sure this is a good fit and explain a little bit about the house, and then typically run a simple background check using KeyCheck. An alternative to that would be to offer a couple of professional references and proof of income. Then, we'd move forward with a lease. We ask for a deposit (full month's rent) at the time of the lease signing to secure the spot.
One small to medium-sized, well behaved dog allowed with an additional pet deposit.
