Bright room in Bed-Stuy Apartment (Creative Space)

Rooms for Sublet

$1,800/month

Location

Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn

Available

June 1, 2025 - January 31, 2026

Up for sublet is a fully-furnished room in a two-bedroom apartment on the second floor of a 19th-century Brooklyn brownstone on a peaceful, tree-lined Bed-Stuy block. The building has just four units (with two below and one above) and the neighbors are all cool, respectful and genial young professional-types. It’s an awesome spot and I'm looking forward to finding someone to share it with.

The room:
Bright, airy guest bedroom with west-facing windows and a mahogany double-decker writing desk. The room will also come with a full wardrobe, queen sized mattress, plants and a spacious fire escape overlooking a tree filled backyard.

The Space:
The apartment itself is a sunny two-bedroom with a large living room and bathroom and decked out with amenities, furniture, books and artwork that my sister has acquired over about a decade of living in NYC. Unfortunately the cats in the photos will be moving out, before the move in date. I will be getting the apartment professionally cleaned to remove allergens.

Other things of note:
• Super-fast WiFi with two Google Nest routers to cover the whole apartment
• Top of the line Berkey Water Filter (even though NYC tap is already great)
• Record player and Bluetooth-enabled Klipsch Speaker
• Roku TV with Netflix, HBO Max, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc.
• Technivorm Moccamaster Drip Coffee machine makes incredibly good coffee
• Very comfy queen-sized mattress
• Dyson V8 Vacuum and two Levoit air-purifiers.
• Laundromat right around the corner with do-it-yourself or reasonably priced wash and fold.
• Regularly available street parking

-> The Neighborhood

Bed-Stuy is an awesome neighborhood. You’re about a two-minute walk from the Myrtle-Willoughby G-Train which gets you anywhere you need to go in western Brooklyn or beyond with a free transfer. There’s a terrific grocery store right around the corner as well as coffee shops, bars (Cookie’s on Myrtle is my local favorite), restaurants and so forth every way you look. The neighborhood itself has a tight-knit residential feel and is centrally located for access to Manhattan, Queens or further into Brooklyn. Herbert Von King Park is about ten minutes away and always buzzing with BBQs, free concerts and picnickers in the spring and summer.

About This Lister

I am from LA/London and recently moved to NYC to study Art Direction and continue with my freelance film work. I will be taking over my sister's apartment as she is moving to Paris in May. I like to keep things clean and tidy and hope to find someone similar. I've stayed in the apartment a lot over the last year, it's a zen place with good energy and I really look forward to moving in permanently!
