About this Lister

My name is Ilana (she/her). I am a coach for folks with Celiac Disease and those who love us. I was diagnosed with celiac disease in 2016, after being sick for years. Cutting gluten out of my diet was challenging, and still I remained chronically ill for 5 more years - as I was exposed to cross contamination in a shared kitchen at home, used unsafe shampoos and cleaning products, and consumed risky meals - especially when traveling or eating outside the home. It took me over 6 years to fully refine my gluten-free lifestyle. This made me a celiac expert. I use this expertise to support others to transition to health and wellbeing as quickly and seamlessly as possible.

Background and Expertise

After a decade of living with Celiac Disease, I am eager to share my expertise. Being able to effectively communicate about cross contamination has enabled me to eat safely at restaurants and enjoy food at friends’ homes. I feel safe eating in my kitchen, even when family members eat gluten in the same space. I am much healthier - have more energy, fewer headaches, better absorption of nutrition, and a higher functioning immune system.

Ultimately, while living with celiac disease requires continuous effort and adaptation, it has also taught me resilience and the importance of advocating for my health. Embracing this journey has led to a deeper understanding of nutrition and wellness, allowing me to thrive within the constraints of this condition.

Additionally, I have experience working with individuals diagnosed with celiac disease, offering personalized guidance on maintaining a strict gluten-free diet. I emphasize the importance of cross-contamination prevention, label reading, and meal planning to enhance overall health and well-being. Understanding the emotional and psychological aspects of living with celiac disease, I provide compassionate support to help navigate challenges and create a fulfilling, gluten-free lifestyle.
