We’re pleased to offer our sweetly appointed, fully furnished co-op apartment to rent to a lucky person —or couple — all utilities (radiator heat and A/C in windows) & wifi included. $1,600 a month. This sunny, tree-canopied apartment comes with ample closet and storage space and is ideal for a visiting nurse, academic, arts practitioner, or other professional in need of a 12 month delightful nesting spot in NYC.
Scenic: This sky-filled corner apartment is conveniently located near multiple forms of public transport, and 1 block from the marvelously intact Owl’s Head Park in the historic, quintessentially Brooklyn neighborhood of Bay Ridge. It’s a 10-minute walk to Shore Road Park, 69th Street Pier & Narrows Botanical Garden, where you will find spectacular views of New York Harbor, the Verrazano Bridge, and a walkway leading to the ocean.
Commercial district: 1 block to the fantastic SuperFresh Market and 1 avenue away from classic restaurants, bars, cafes, shops, yoga, gym, banks, libraries, churches, schools, featuring a cornucopia of the ethnic diversity and old school delights that Brooklyn is famous for: Italian, Irish, Greek, German, Eastern European, Latin-American, Asian, Arab, Afro-Caribbean, Jewish, LGBTQ. And: print-making galleries, artisans, music and dance studios. As a New Yorker, I have to say, here you can still experience the authentic New York. Friends from Manhattan come visit so that they can find the former New York which they miss! Unlike many gentrifying areas, it is becoming more not less diverse. It is low crime, in Brooklyn. Great for kids. We also border the amazing Sunset Park.

Public transportation: 10 min. walk to 4th Avenue R subway, 1 Bl. to the X27 bus to Manhattan (approx. 20 mins) and equidistant from 2 public ferry lines: South Bklyn (@69th Pier) & Rockaway (@Bklyn Army Terminal). In-bound Rockaway gets you to Lower Manhattan in 12 mins. (Plus: visit the beach for a summer getaway!)

The apartment has a fully stocked galley kitchen (optional pots, pans, cutlery, plates, etc., we can clear out if not needed), a spacious living room with a luxury futon sofa that folds out into a very comfy Queen-sized bed for guests, in addition there is a bookcase (see picture) which can be yours exclusively if desired, and behind that is a storage area that stores cleaning appliances and a large fold-out table & extra chairs, for dinner parties or office needs (see pics). In addition to this larger table, there is a fold down extension board next to the kitchen, which functions as a bar-cafe table and extra food-prep space.

Two big windows, protected by decorative bars, offer views of the sky and beautiful old trees and houses. There are state-of-the-art A/C in both rooms’ windows.
The Bedroom offers a very comfortable queen-sized bed, 2 night-tables with lamps and blackout curtains make it easy to sleep in. There’s a large open closet to hang your clothes, and a bureau with drawers. In addition, in the vestibule between bedroom and bathroom there is an extensive cubbied storage space with wide shelves above that is for your use, if needed. The bathroom is a full bath and shower with hotel-like towels provided.

Coin-operated Laundry in the building, bike storage available in courtyard, large lobby, 1920s pre-war apartment building is well-managed with good super.

For Travel: The block is peaceful and parking is not as impossible here as in many areas, though you still gotta hunt(!) Locals do rent designated parking spaces often. We are near BQE, Belt Parkway, Verrazano Bridge to S.I. and NJ, and about 25 min.drive to JFK Airport and 25 min. by subway to Atlantic Terminal for Trains & Buses.
