My one-bedroom furnished apartment in the East Village is available for medium- to long-term sublet for $2,700 a month. Ideally, I'd love for one person (it tends to be too cramped for couples) to stay for six months or more.
It's comfortably furnished (bed, sofa, desk and TV), features hardwood floors, two decent-sized closets (not pictured) with storage cubbies above them and original, pressed-tin ceilings. It is located in the heart of the East Village, just upstairs from the coffee shops, restaurants, boutiques and other fun shops of the neighborhood.
Whole Foods at Houston Street is about a three-minute walk away. Thompkins Square Park is about an eight-minute walk away. The F train at 1st Ave. is two short blocks away. The Lafayette Subway station is about a six-minute walk away. An express bus stop is a one-minute walk from the apartment.
Cable internet and wifi are set up and furnishings include: queen bed with Simmons Beautyrest mattress, Jennifer convertible sofa, desk, air conditioner, lamps and TV. You can turn on premium or basic cable TV of course if you like. You would need to bring: sheets, blankets, towels, bed pillows, pots and pans, dishware and silverware. (There is some kitchen-ware, but it tends to come and go.)
Because it's in the back of the building, it's also a quiet apartment. It faces north so doesn't get a ton of light. It's on the fourth floor of a walkup building (three flights of stairs).
We're looking for someone who is generally quiet and would ideally like to sublet for at least six months. Utilities (wifi, electricity and gas) are to be paid separately but come to around $200/month.
I’m a marketing and advertising copywriter and a New Yorker for 25 years. I now spend part of the winter in Los Angeles. I would be your contact person for the duration of your stay and, for most of the year, live nearby.
Lease Holder
I'd need proof of ability to pay the rent, a recommendation letter, security deposit (one-month’s rent) and first month's rent to move in. You would need to sign a sublet agreement.
