The room is a spacious 15 x 11 room with two bright windows and high ceilings. It has an extremely comfy full-sized bed, a desk and chair, bookshelf, an armchair, several lamps, an air conditioner and a large dresser, with a personal closet just outside the room. Almost all the furniture is mid-century mahogany and/or antique and there’s some art on the wall. The dresser and closet are empty so you have space for your things, and you will be provided with clean bed sheets and towels (unless you prefer to use your own).

The apartment is a 3rd floor walkup. It has hardwood floors throughout and an ABUNDANCE of beautiful natural light throughout the day. It is a peaceful, nourishing sanctuary. Guests are welcome to come over but it's not a party house. Bathroom, living room and kitchen are shared, and you’ll have full access to cooking and dining utensils and amenities.

The apartment is located in the less gentrified part of Crown Heights on Buffalo Ave, just off Eastern Parkway. It's a residential area two minutes away from Lincoln Terrace Park with tennis, squash, baseball and basketball courts. There are two laundromats around the block and many delis, and there’s a very well stocked supermarket that is a 5min walk away.

It’s a 10 min walk from the 3/4 Utica Avenue subway stop, a 10 min ride to Atlantic Ave where you can connect to the B,D,N,Q,R lines, and approx. 45 mins to Times Square / Midtown area. It’s also a 15-20 min walk to Utica on the A/C trains and there are lots of local buses, including the B15 direct to JFK airport.

About This Lister

I am a Phd student and I will be gone for six months for a fellowship. My return date will be sometime between June 30th and mid-July, so there is some flexibility for the move out date.

You’ll be living with my lovely roommate, a queer Thai American woman freelance theatre director who works from home when not in rehearsal, and leads a busy social and professional life outside. She is thoughtful, respectful, fun to talk to, cares about social justice issues, and is really supportive in many ways.
