We’re looking for a roommate to fill one of the three bedrooms in our beautiful pre-war apartment in Crown Heights. The building is a 10-minute walk from both the Franklin 2/3/4/5 and the Nostrand A/C, and just down the block from the Prospect Park Shuttle and all of the fantastic restaurants, cafes, and bars on and around Franklin Ave.

The room is cozy and quiet, with a north-facing window letting in lots of natural light and a closet large enough to fit a full-sized dresser with plenty of room to spare

The apartment has a spacious and well-equipped kitchen, plus a lovely dining room and a comfortable living room with a tv. It’s on the fourth floor of a very homey apartment building, with our wonderful landlady living on the first floor. There’s no on-site washer/dryer, but several laundromats are close by.

You’d be living with Sam (he/him, long-time coffee professional and sometime runner & cyclist) and Owen (they/them, theater and hospitality professional). We’re both tidy, conscientious, and chill, and the apartment’s an honest-to-goodness home— a comfortable oasis on a quiet block in a vibrant, convivial neighborhood.

Sam (he/him) — I'm 40, I’ve lived in New York since 2010, and I've worked in the specialty coffee industry for 23 years— these days, I do wholesale sales for Stumptown Coffee Roasters. I'm a (somewhat lapsed) runner and cyclist, and I love to cook and mix the occasional cocktail. I like to keep a tidy and chill space, but I'm a long way from obsessive about it.

Owen (they/them) — late 20’s, AFAB non-binary, originally from Ireland and have lived in NYC for 7 years. I work in the theatre industry and in restaurants, so my work tends to take me out of the house in the afternoon and evenings, but not late nights. I’m very clean and would love to live with someone who communicates clearly, is conscientious, and doesn’t need to be asked to clean up after themselves. As a roommate I would describe myself as very friendly but also very introverted! I appreciate my home being a peaceful place to relax and recharge.
