We’re looking for a dedicated Dog Handler & Care Specialist to join our team. "MUST LOVE DOGS" is more than a slogan here; it’s a daily commitment to providing each dog with outstanding care, respect, and love. Professional dog care requires energy, patience, and genuine dedication to the animals entrusted to us.
Key Responsibilities:
Team member: Work with other team members to create a high-end, trust-based experience for each dog and their owners.
Advocate for the well-being of every dog.
Canine Enrichment: Provide exercise, socialization, and positive reinforcement-based care, fostering a safe and engaging play environment.
Special Care Services: Provide special services, including TLC time with pups, basic grooming, or administering medications as instructed.
Daily Care & Communication: Ensure dogs are properly fed, exercised, and given medication when necessary, and report any behavioral or health observations.
Communication with Team Leads: Keep accurate records in our camp management software platform for each dog, noting key behavior and welfare needs.
Weather-Ready: Be prepared to handle outdoor play in all weather conditions—yes, the pups love mud and snow!
Safe Dog Handling: Be willing to handle all sizes and breeds of dogs in a safe and gentle way. We keep group sizes between 2 and 15 dogs, depending on behavior, size, and temperament.
Health & Welfare Monitoring: Work closely with our Behavior and Welfare team to address any potential issues and ensure dogs are a good fit for our social camp environment.
Daily Cleaning & Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness throughout all animal areas, including kennels, play areas, and common spaces. Regularly disinfect to ensure a safe environment. Keep bedding, toys, and linens clean and ready for use; wash, dry, and organize these items regularly.
Facility Upkeep: Assist with daily maintenance tasks to keep our facility safe, organized, and efficient.
Meal Prep & Feeding: Prepare and serve meals according to each dog’s dietary needs, ensuring accurate portioning and monitoring for any allergies or sensitivities.
Laundry & Kennel Maintenance: Inventory Management: Keep track of supplies, notify the team when stock is low, and assist with organizing kennel supplies.
Compensation: $19-$23 per hour(based on experience, education, and schedule flexibility), with weekend and holiday peak shift differentials, bonus pay, competitive benefits package and continued education opportunities.
