Hi! We have a darling one bedroom apartment in Echo Park available for a sublet starting May 1st, ideally until the end of August. The sublet is on a month to month basis with a minimum stay of 3 months. We are also very open to considering an apartment swap with someone in NYC/Brooklyn for at least two months. Swaps to the front!

This 1930s vintage cottage-esque apartment is on the smaller side and perfect for one person or for a couple. It's on a hill located right by canyon coffee. Located on a quiet street, steps away from all the restaurant and bar action of sunset blvd. As a former New Yorker, I can attest to it's walkability. Lassens, organic grocery store and pharmacy nearby. The place is also equidistant from both Echo Park Lake and Elysian Park. I love this neighborhood!

The apartment itself comes furnished and equipped with everything you need cooking-wise, a King sized bed, two desks (I have a japanese floor desk in the living room and my partner uses the desk in the bedroom), a berkey water filter, a shower filter and an AC in the bedroom. Luckily, the apartment is in a shaded area so it stays pretty cool all year around. On really hot days we were perfectly comfortable with the AC in the bedroom and a standing fan in the living room.

My partner uses the outside area to paint and has a little shed with materials. Before us, this apartment used to house a very active painter and at one point was a makeshift art gallery. A few of our neighbors are also artists, filmmakers, creatives.

Please note: Usually 2 cats live here so if you're deathly allergic to cat dander this place might not be suitable. Another thing to note regarding accessibility: You have to climb four flights of stairs to get to the top area where our apartment resides. The cottages are stand alones and are grouped in tiers, it'll make sense in person, just be aware that it is not wheelchair accessible.

About you:
As aforementioned, this place is suitable for one person or a couple. We hope to sublet to someone who is respectful of the space, doesn't bring the party home and is a fellow artist or creative person.
