I fabricate a range of items that support artists and art institutions. Items may include pedestals, exhibit furniture, displays, scale models, crates, and shipping boxes.
I run a small fabrication shop in Brooklyn and live in Queens. I am an artist and my work is mostly performance based. I am originally from Chicago and moved to New York in 2012. I think what motivates me to continue doing this kind of work is the joy of creating systems and methodologies that can create a kind of "groove" while working. I think every project has it's own internal language or logic.
I have been a fabricator and carpenter since 2005. I initially became interested in the trade industry through my family and my schooling. After working for various shops and institutions over the years, I decided to start my own shop in 2017. Since going off on my own I've been able to apply my range of abilities to many projects. I love the direct communication and ongoing relationships that I have developed as a sole proprietor. It's very rewarding to get to know people through building projects for them.
