Book a Catskills holiday (with a super sweet cat included)!

I absolutely love it here - it's a renovated hunting cabin from the 1940's, tucked away inside the Catskill Park but only 10 minutes to "downtown" Livingston Manor and all the buzzy things that that entails. 

The house is perfect for 1-2 people. With a super manageable footprint of 900 square feet, this cabin has two small bedrooms, a very pretty bathroom and an open plan living/dining/kitchen area. The living room is anchored by a modern Malm fireplace, and though the space overall isn't huge, the vaulted ceilings give you loads of headspace (literally and figuratively).

All utilities are included, washer/dryer are in the basement. High speed internet makes this a great spot to work from home. The kitchen is fully equipped, driveway parking, smart Frame tv, loads of coffee and puzzles.

The price includes a discount for keeping an eye on my little killer cat, Willow. She's a total sweetie who sleeps most of the day and is really good, low key company. Also open to shorter stays (3-night minimum).

The house sits on three acres, and though you can see neighbors through the trees, the only other three houses on the lane are seasonal. There is a campground at the end of the lane that is closed for the season, though the very kind caretakers live there year round. Read: this rental is private and quiet while not totally isolated (perfect mix!). There's a bubbling creek that runs the length of the house, and the property is walkable to over 500 acres of state land and the rushing Willowemoc river. The road from town to my house runs parallel to the river and is one of the prettiest drives in the region.

You'll be minutes from classic winter hikes, like Frick Pond, Giant Ledge and the Red Hill fire tower. Livingston Manor has all your essentials (Haven Market, Main Street Farm, Pecks, gas), food & drinks (Van Smokey, Sunshine Colony, The Walk In, Stumble Out, Kaatskeller, The Debruce, The Arnold, Threshold), and not one but two breweries (Catskill Brewery and Upward Brewing). At just 2 hours from NYC, this could be a great trial run if you're thinking about moving upstate. A ready made house and pet in the Catskills!
