Work solo but tired of working in isolation? We still have two full-time single offices and three part-time offices available at the Asterisk, a new community workspace for people working in or passionate about healing and wellness, art and social justice. Perfect for therapists, solopreneurs, professional coaches, writers, justice workers or anyone working at the intersections of healing, creativity and liberation.

$160-200/month (that's only $40-50/day!) for one day weekly part-time use, $575-600/month for full-time use.

Each office has a large window and carpeted floors and comes with round-the-clock access. The building has stellar wifi, key code entry, luxe lobby, a large dedicated parking lot and three all-gender, single use bathrooms. Downstairs there is a small coworking space and all-member lounge, kitchenette and dining area. Full-time tenants have access to the large group space on evenings and weekends for workshops, group events, gatherings, classes, and more (part-time tenants can use if availability allows).

Get outside! We're steps away from a long rail trail for afternoon walks, with walking and biking distance to Uptown Kingston! And we have a big backyard for gardening and gathering.

Accessibility: The offices are on the first floor, with four steps to the front door. The downstairs space has two entries: from inside a 13-stair staircase and from the outside a shallow 7-stair staircase.

We are working to build a community of collaborators and cross-pollinators who are eager to share and grow alongside one another. We imagine a place where we can do revolutionary-, care- and community-centered work alongside people who share our passion and vision for a liberated world. We believe creativity is healing, healing is justice, and justice is fueled by creativity. We enthusiastically welcome people of color, queer and trans folk and anyone who needs an inclusive place to work.

About This Lister

Leigh (he/they) and Charles (he/they) are co-conspirators, co-owners and co-managers of the Asterisk. We’re two queer and trans folk who wanted to create a place where we wanted to go to work, alongside rad folk committed to art, healing and social justice.

Charles Thompson-Shealy is a liberation-centered clinical psychotherapist and the owner of Cenote Therapy. They are a textile and print artist and all-around creative queerdo that loves to make things with his hands and is always down to learn a new artistic technique or medium.

S. Leigh Thompson-Shealy is an equity and justice strategist, consultant and coach, a Theatre of the Oppressed Joker, a master facilitator and joyful trouble-maker. As a former theatre kid, Leigh believes they can make anything with some duct tape, zip ties and binder clips.

We have the same last name because we are family. We raise a kiddo together in a home we share with a dog and cat in Kingston. We are obsessed about community and think it’s our most powerful resource.
