Hi! I am looking for a responsible, clean subletter to enjoy my cozy UES (Lenox Hill area) studio while I will be traveling in July and August. It is a "small but mighty" apartment with everything you need for a comfortable, enjoyable stay in NYC, and the location is unbeatable.
The location:
The convenient neighborhood is an adorable, peaceful tree-lined street filled with young adults, couples, and families. Countless restaurants, bars, cafes, shops, etc that are a variety of cuisines and offer anything from a trendy local spot to tiny holes in the wall. Library around the corner. Nearest grocery store and Duane Reade is just around the block and Trader Joe's is a short bus ride away.
The apartment is minutes away from Central Park, The Met (and the rest of Museum Mile), and other NYC landmarks. The East River is a block away and perfect for running, walking, biking, and strolling up to Carl Schurz park. Many fitness studios and gyms if that's something you wish to check out.
I'm happy to provide you with all my local recommendations!
Accessibility/getting around:
It's extremely easy to get anywhere in the city - 6 train 77th street stop (local) and Q train 72nd street stop are the closest. 4&5 express trains are nearby by either taking the 6 and transferring or walking a few more blocks. There are a number of bus routes, including those that can take you across town and down to the heart of the Lower East Side. Also easy access to the FDR drive (parkway) which makes Uber and Lyft rides a breeze.
The apartment itself:
Queen sized bed, L-shape sectional couch, TV with streaming services (Hulu, Netflix, Prime, Max, and more).
A/C in-wall unit.
Fully stocked kitchen - pots, pans, cooking utensils, full stove, full fridge, toaster, microwave, blender, keurig machine
Full bathroom with full bathtub and closet storage
One of the hugest selling points is the rare NYC finds of both dishwasher and laundry washer/dryer IN-UNIT (access to larger sized washers and dryers in the basement if needed, coin-operated)
I have a "laptop stand" desk to use with the couch for computer use [no official "office desk" setup]
While there is only one real closet in the apartment, there is ample storage space with several wardrobe units and underbed storage.
My clothes and personal belongings will be removed (aside from a few items in the closet that will not obstruct space for hangers) so you can fully settle in. I have plenty of linens and there will be sheets and towels for your use.
The building:
The building is clean and well-maintained with secure pass-code entry to the building itself. It is a five floor walkup and my unit is on the ground floor. This means there are occasional "city sounds" and sometimes sounds of other tenants entering or exiting the building, but it does not get too loud since it is a quiet block.
Logistics:
The 2750 per month cost covers all fees - utilities, internet, use of washer dryer, etc.
Ideally looking for a single person. Full months of July and August preferred but will consider partial stays on a case by case basis. There can be some leeway for earlier move in at the end of June or later move out in the beginning of September.
Pets considered on a case by case basis. My cat lives in the apartment with me but, of course, she and her belongings will not be here for your stay. :)
I am a school counselor in an NYC public school and I love this apartment and neighborhood! I will be traveling during my summer break and would love for someone to get use out of the space. I am able to show you the apartment, get you settled in, and am available if any questions arise during the summer.
Tenant
$1000 deposit required which is refundable to be paid back when you move out and everything is in order! :)
Additionally 25% of total amount due upfront (depending on specific dates of stay)
Priority given to those who are looking to stay the full 2 months.
This is a very pet friendly building. Small pets considered case by case. I have a cat (who will not be there during your stay) and am happy to leave some toys if you end up bringing a kitty. :)
** $100 additional per month if you do bring a pet **
