I'm subletting my furnished bedroom in prime Crown Heights (right by Cafe Rue Dix). The room comes with a bed+mattress, cabinets, work from home desk, and closet space.
The apartment is a 3bd 1.5ba duplex on the 1st floor. In terms of amenities, there's an in-unit washer dryer, dishwasher, and AC/heating units in each room. There's a basement hangout space that leads out to a shared outdoor courtyard. The courtyard contains a bike rack, tables/chairs, and fairy lights. Cost of utilities (wifi/electricity) is included in the price.
Location-wise, it's 10 min walk from the Medgars Evers-Franklin Ave 2/3/4/5 station, 13 min walk from the Franklin or Nostrand A/C stations. It's also 10 mins from Prospect Heights and 20 min from Prospect Park. It's one block away from Franklin Ave, which has tons of cute cafes, restaurants and grocery stores. There's lots of Jamaican/Caribbean food options east of the apartment.
The apartment is quiet as it faces away from the street. It's hard to hear anything aside from the loudest of sirens. You can't hear the upstairs neighbors at all and it's insulated from buildings on either side. The super is pretty responsive and tickets for any repairs/fixes can be submitted through an online portal.
Apartment culture: we clean common spaces / do chores as the need arises. The flatmates generally keep to themselves and aren't party types so the vibe is pretty chill.
Accessibility: while the apartment is on the first floor, there is a small step to get into the building, and there are steps down to the basement/outdoor space.
My two flatmates (both he/him, mid-late 20s) are friendly but generally keep to themselves. One mostly works from home as a freelancer in the film industry (most of the time in the basement, occasionally at a cafe) while the other goes into the office every day, so how often you see them will vary. Both cook regularly. One of my roommates has more of a preference for neatness than the other, so we've experimented with how we do chores, though this is negotiable with them.
My flatmates are looking for a polite and quiet roommate. They don't really host parties, though they wouldn't mind if you bring friends over.
