Welcome to our Red Hook loft with fabulously tall ceilings and large windows. This is an open and bright space with lots of natural light, painted white wood floors, a well-stocked modern kitchen with a large quartz island. The loft is located in the Monarch Luggage Factory, a truly unique live/work space in a converted four story factory. The building has an elevator, washer/dryer on each floor, a live-in super who is friendly and helpful. Cleaning services can be arranged during your stay for with our trusted person who also lives in the building. The loft is on the second floor of the building facing Delavan street which is super quiet at nights with plenty of street parking spaces. The loft has been furnished by our own custom designed and built furniture as well as a few eclectic mid-century modern pieces. The sleeping space has a California king bed with a firm and comfortable mattress. The loft extension has a comfortable twin mattress which can be used as the secondary sleeping area or just a place to hang out and enjoy the view of Manhattan skyline and the sunset. High speed WiFi and all utilities are included. The building is well maintained and quiet. Our immediate neighbors are accomplished artists and creative people who use the space as a live/work space. We request to please respect the quiet time in the building and do not host any large and loud parties or gatherings. It is important to note that the staircase to the loft is steep and doesn't have a railing. The loft is not suitable for toddlers and is not child proof. We do have a few plants which must be watered weekly. We trust that you treat our home like it is yours. We request that you recycle and take trash to the trash room regularly.
Neighborhood: The loft is just a short walk to Van Brunt street which is a lively main street of Red Hook, surrounded by great restaurants, artisanal distilleries, chocolatiers, breweries and wine makers. Coffey park is a small and low-key neighborhood park facing the entrance of the building on Verona street. The loft is a 20 mins walk to Brooklyn Bridge Park and short walk to the waterfront piers.
Transportation: Closest Subway is F / G at Smith-9 station or the F train at Carroll street Station. The loft is a short walk to the South Brooklyn Ferry station which is the most pleasant and economic way of commuting to Manhattan in only 15 minutes. There are CitiBikes available around the corner from the building. The loft is very close to the Battery Park Tunnel and less than a 10 mins drive to Manhattan. There is plenty of street parking space around the building.
My husband and I have lived in the building for the past 8 years. We will be working on a project upstate for a few months and that's why we are subletting our sunny loft. We hope to find someone who cares for it and enjoys it as much as we do.
