I have a two room, 350 sq. ft. studio apartment which is available for rent. It is located in Stapleton, Staten Island which is just south of the Ferry. It is a 25 minute walk, a 7 minute drive/ bus/ Staten Island Railway ride, or 10 minute bike ride to the Ferry.
The apartment is on the first floor of our Victorian home on a beautiful historic street called Harrison Street. It has an eat in kitchen with a washer/dryer unit, a full bathroom with a bathtub, a small sitting nook off of the kitchen and a bedroom. There is a small closet in the bedroom. We used zero VOC paint throughout and environmentally friendly bamboo floors and cabinets. There is a lovely garden in the back that is shared with us and the apartment is filled with light. The grass thinned out over the winter but we are re-seeding it and it will grow in nicely soon. We only use organic fertilizer, with no harmful chemicals in it.
The apartment can come furnished (as seen in the pictures although some of the furniture has changed since the pictures were taken), partially or unfurnished depending upon the needs of the tenant.
No smoking. Pets are upon approval with an added deposit. The rent is $1460 per month which includes all utilities: heat, hot water, electricity, and wifi. If more than one occupant will be residing in the apartment, then there will be an additional $75 per month fee for utilities.
The space is on the first floor of our home, which we live in and own. My husband and myself will be showing the apartment.
About us: I am a Speech-Language Pathologist/ Singer-songwriter/ Yoga enthusiast/ 25 year Amnesty International member. I live with my husband who is a musician/ graphic artist/ web developer/ film editor and our two children who are 11 and 16 years old. We have a dog which is a black lab-terrier mix.
It will just be my husband and myself showing the apartment.
Owner / landlord
You must supply proof of income and have good credit (credit score of above 700) in order to qualify. There will be a lease to sign, with an option to renew the lease if mutually agreeable.
There will be a fee for us to run each person's credit report of $20.00.
We require one month's rent as a security deposit as well as the first month's rent upon signing the lease. The security deposit will be refunded after we inspect the apartment when the tenant moves out. If there are any damages, then we will deduct the cost of repairing the damages from the security deposit.
1 cat may be allowed, given approval. There will be a pet deposit of $150 required.
