Hey there! We (Tyler, 34, and Maddie, 35) are looking for a wonderful human to join our cozy, friendly home in Bed Stuy. We’re both queer, active in the local community, and love creating a space that feels like home—warm, inviting, and full of good food, good company, and cat cuddles.

The Room:
Large bedroom (12x22 ft) on the first floor – plenty of space for a bedroom + extra lounge/work area.
Attached half bath – super convenient!
Some furniture available (bed, shelves, etc.) if needed, but it can come unfurnished as well.
2 windows for fresh air and a split heating/cooling wall unit

The Home:
Two living rooms – one for lounging, one with workout equipment and crafts (both have a couch and tv).
Large dining area & a fully stocked kitchen – perfect for home cooks of any level! (I cook a lot)
In-unit washer/dryer & dishwasher – no laundromat runs here!
Huge backyard oasis – plants, veggies, herbs, a gas grill, lounge furniture, an umbrella, and a massive blow-up pool in the summer. We love spending time out here!

The Vibe:
We’re looking for someone who fits well into our home— a housemate who enjoys shared meals every now and then, movie/game nights, and backyard hangs in the summer. We love hosting the occasional dinner party but aren’t big on wild parties. We’re clean and organized but want our home to feel lived in and loved. We always check in before having guests stay over.

Two extremely friendly, well-behaved cats live here, so hopefully, you love a good cuddle!

Great on-street parking if you have a car, my friends and family never have issues finding a spot out front.
Close to the Utica A/C stop & near coffee shops, grocery stores, and our favorite bodega.
Amazing bathroom upstairs with three shower heads and a dreamy tub for baths.
Extra pull-out bed & air mattress are available for guests.

The Logistics:
Move-in date April 1st (early move-in available)
New lease starts in September 2025 – stay short-term or sign on long-term! You will need to provide a security deposit if you sign the lease.
Utilities split evenly, 3 ways (Fios internet, gas, and electric)

This is a space where you’ll always find a home-cooked meal, a quiet nook for alone time, a creative spark, and a cozy spot to watch a movie. If this sounds like the right vibe for you, send us a message with a bit about yourself! We’d love to meet you.

About This Lister

We’re Maddie (35) and Tyler (34), two longtime friends (7 years strong!) who are excited to welcome a new housemate into our cozy, creative home.

Maddie (they/them) is a healthcare professional by day and an artist by night. They love cooking elaborate meals, painting, crafting, and writing. Karaoke nights, small get-togethers, and deep TV binges are their happy place. Originally from Philly, they’ve been in NYC for 8 years and have a strong appreciation for a well-organized spreadsheet and a good adventure.

Tyler (they/them) is a creative working in film and textile design. They’re always on the lookout for new art, food, and fun spots to explore. Health and movement are big for them—they love to dance, travel, and enjoy a well-crafted cocktail. Originally from LA, they’re a year into their NYC journey and excited to keep discovering the city.

We’re both easygoing, social, and love creating a home that feels warm, welcoming, and full of good food and conversation. We’re not party people, but we love hosting small dinners, game nights, and backyard hangs.

And of course, we share our space with two very friendly cats—Godric (14, wise and chill) and Iris (3, playful and sweet). If you love a home that’s creative, cozy, and full of good vibes (and cat cuddles), we’d be a great fit!

Rental requirements

If you are going to sign on to the new lease starting in September you'll need to meet our landlord and officially apply. I have lived here for 3 years and he trusts me so I do not see any issues with renting as long as you have steady income. He is a great landlord and is very diligent to our needs.

You will also need to pay a security deposit for anyone signing onto the lease.

If you don't want to sign the lease, the rental will be available from April 1st- August 31st. We would ask you to sign a sublease agreement with us as roommates, but the landlord won't be involved.

If you want to speak to our former roommate who moved back home we can also facilitate that for you.
