Located on a beautiful block on the Upper West Side. Ideally located 4 minutes from the line 1 and 7 minutes from the B/C. Two blocks from Central Park, the Museum of Natural History and the New-York Historical Society on one side, and two blocks from Zabar’s on the other. The neighborhood is peaceful, but also still quite lively with lots of resources and fun things to do. Trader Joes, a weekly farmers market, Target and Whole Foods are all nearby. Also within easy walking distance: Riverside Park, Shakespeare in the Park, The Beacon Theater, Lincoln Center, several movie theaters, bookshops (the Strand, Westsider, Barnes and Noble), coffee shops (Irving Farm, Maman, Bluestone Lane), restaurants (Barney Greengrass, Orwashers and Swagat just to name my favorites!) and bars.
The apartment has 2 bedrooms and one bath. It is a fourth floor walkup in a quiet 5 floor building. The bedroom comes fully furnished with a bed, bed frame, bookcase, and dresser. My bedroom is on the opposite side of the apartment, and is separated by the bathroom, so privacy has never been an issue in the apartment.
I was originally on the lease with a friend who sadly moved out of New York for work. I am looking for a clean, considerate, friendly person to join me on the lease starting on May 1st. If you are interested, please share a little about yourself!
I am 31 years old and consider myself to be friendly and responsible. I definitely prioritize cleanliness in my living environment and am looking for someone who does as well! I am completing a PhD in History/French Studies at New York University. Most days I am at NYU to teach or work from campus, but I am also finishing my dissertation so I write from home quite often.
I have been living on the Upper West Side for over a year, and love the neighborhood. On the weekends I tend to be out and about, rushing Broadway shows, cycling around the Park, or enjoying brunch with friends :) Since I am from Long Island originally, I tend to spend a weekend or two a month home seeing family and friends. I speak English and French.
Currently on the lease for the apartment
I am resigning my lease in April and looking for someone to join with me. The new lease starts May 1st and is for one year.
The landlord for the apartment requires an application for tenants joining the lease, which is due by April 1st, which includes a credit check.
