Hey everyone! My boyfriend and I just moved back to Brooklyn and are subletting while we look for a long term place. I actualllly miss having roommates so we're looking for some people to look for an apartment with! Please reply if this feels right for you!
Logistical Stuff
- We're planning to look generally in the neighborhoods mentioned, but mainly want to be near Prospect Park and the subway so are open to other options as well.
- Ideally we were thinking 4 bedrooms with 1 left as a shared office / hobby room. Open to discussion
- Ideally looking for a place around $6-$7k total with rent divvied fairly (based on room size / couple status etc) and we'd make sure everyone is in agreement on what's fair
- Queer/trans friendly
- Prefer to live with with non-binary or women
- OK with couples as well
- Ideally we're looking for folks who'd want to extend beyond a year if things are going well, but understand life happens
- Note: we're not clean freaks. I appreciate tidyness, but am messy at times and would give / hope to receive grace on that.
- Pooling $ for a cleaner every 2 weeks to month would be good.
- Amenities like dishwashers are a bonus for me but not a requirement, though finding laundry in-unit would be awesome
We're in our early 30s and work in tech. We don't really party but really enjoy being out of the house bike riding, exploring, eating veg food. I'm 3 yrs sober, but it doesn't need to be a sober household or anything. We're both very interested in community / labor organizing and going down a liberationist path, so alignment on values like that would be awesome! We can talk about more background stuff on a call!
We have basically 2 core requirements, so it's important to find people that are on board!
1. Vegan household - my home is my safe space when it comes to vegan stuff, so it's really important to me to live with vegans and make sure we're clear that no animal products come into the kitchen (even for guests)
2. No shoes household - I want to live with someone who believes in this, because I don't want it to feel like an arbitrary rule that can be broken hahah. I plan to make sure there are slippers for guests
