I'm renting my spacious one bedroom for two months: it's a beautiful 1923 elevator building, with old-school hissy NYC radiators and gorgeous, light-drenched south and east facing windows. There's a boxy kitchen (sink, oven, fridge--no dishwasher), big living room that's divided into a dining and sleeping area, and then an office room with a big desk, small sofa, and floor-to-ceiling bookshelves.
This is a much loved space: home to a good deal of reading and writing. Great subway access: across the street from the 2/3 and 4/5 express trains and near all the lively shops and cafes of Franklin Avenue, just two long blocks from the Brooklyn Museum and Botanic Gardens and a 15 minute walk from the Prospect Park entrances at Grand Army Plaza and Empire Boulevard. My building is tight-knit and neighborly, with a lot of multi-generational Caribbean-American families.
I'm looking for a quiet low-key tenant who will enjoy the space and water the plants.
I'm a writer and scholar and founder of The Myth Lab NYC, a project that brings together artists to create the new imaginative narratives our culture needs. Among other things, in January, I'll be hosting our first retreat.
I've lived at this apartment for the past six and a half years, written many words at the desk, and created a haven for work and reflection: slightly sparsely furnished, full of books and plants, and deeply loved.
$1000 deposit to be returned at the end of the two month rental. $2,400 a month. First month's rent and deposit due up front; second month rent due at the end of January.
