About this Lister

My name is Jessica, and I’m a software engineer based out of San Francisco.

My path to software development was not straight and narrow, and I pride myself in my ability to talk about technical concepts with all different kinds of minds. I’ll keep it real with you!

Background and Expertise

I have worked as a software engineer across the stack full time for the past 5 and a half years now - after a mini lifetime of a pretty wide variety other different jobs.

Most recently, I’ve served as a tech lead on a large consumer-facing platform. I also freelance and have worked at tiny startups as engineer #1, to the larger places I worked at, where I had to think about issues of scaling, accessibility, etc! I’ve built quite a few apps from the ground up, and like to think I know how to delight the user who might be using the app, and the next engineer who might come along and add some code to it!

I also have years of experience in tutoring and teaching; I volunteer with a few local foundations to teach people how to code and help them with their projects - it’s something I truly enjoy.
