Single bedroom and disability accessible bathroom in a housing complex called "the Haven at Wake." There are two housemates, both males (one of whom plans on leaving after July 31), who are usually absent during the day. The room is farthest one in the back of the home, directly facing the street. Traffic noise however is minimal (work colleagues who live in downtown have complained to me about the train). The house is a duplex, we are the bottom floor so you will hear some noise from upstairs. The property space is brand new, including the house and all appliances, furniture, etc. Most renters that live on the property are students at the various universities around town- this property is considered Wake Forest University off-campus housing, but anyone is welcome here according to the property owners. There is a Wake Forest university shuttle that comes to the property several times each day and provides reliable transportation to various locations around town. I have no personal experience using it, but they may be tracked with a phone application and are very friendly. The complex is in a business area just adjacent to some neighborhoods and there is a bus station (not shuttle) within walking distance that one of the roommates uses, which I do not have experience with. Wake Forest University is just seven minutes away and you can expect traffic issues nearby during home games. The $925 rent includes utilities (electricity, water, and basic internet plan) and parking (outdoors no covering and no reserved space). There is an option to upgrade from the free basic to $10/per month for much faster WIFI in the entire house (this is what I did but will cancel the plan upon your arrival). The space comes furnished, washer/dryer inside the house, hardwood floors, and maintenance is reliable for anything that came with the property that might go wrong. The property managers are nice and responsive to your concerns, though they are not on site outside of business hours. If you have a lockout during the weekend, for example, you need to have a spare key made, hire a locksmith, or wait for one of your roommates to return. There is a dog park, outdoor grill area, and clubhouse with mailbox attached to the side. Inside the clubhouse you have the gym, common kitchen, and study spaces. The property managers host events for the community every once in a while. There is a gas station/food mart and a barber shop right next to the property. Walmart is only a few minutes drive. The common space includes a kitchen area and a living room with couches to watch T.V. My roommates are friendly and generally keep the common area clean, though they are absent during much of the day and weekend- it may be difficult to split chores with them. Key access is not electronic, and you are given a separate one for your bedroom. Your bathroom is only accessible from inside your room.
I am a graduate student leaving my externship to return to my home institution out of state, looking for someone to take over my rent for three months with the possibility of renewing the lease.
current tenant
Males preferred. Must agree to pay monthly rent to the properties owners on time, no exceptions.
Current lease agreement does not include pets but you may be able to modify it upon arrival. Certainly if you decide to stay past July 31, 2025 you may have pets.
