This is a private, shared professional silkscreen shop. The shop is a co-op shared by only 4 other artists. Studio time is booked on a shared google calendar, so you have the place to yourself while you are working. The equipment was built by assistants for Sol Lewitt and for Pace Editions and is designed to produce oversized silkscreen prints (50" x 72") It is a perfect set up for painters who want to experiment with silkscreen, or for producing screen print editions. Perfect for making large scale works, one time editions, posters, T-Shirts. There has always been more than enough available time on the google calendar for everyone to have plenty of shop time. The silkscreen shop is in a well-run, studio building in Williamsburg; the building has committed to additional cleaning and disinfecting during the COVID19 outbreak. The shop includes:

• 24-hour keyed, private access to the studio in East Williamsburg studio building, fantastic location
• studio equiped with an oversize vaccuum exposure unit (burns up to 50" x 72" screens!)
• a vacuum printing table big enough to accomodate large screens for precise prints
• oversize washout sink with ventilation
• access to shop screens, over-sized and regular
• storage, drying rack
• free wi-fi, all utilities included
• shop training

Open to short-term or project based rentals. This is the most affordable option for self-directed silkscreen printing, if you know how to screen print, or want to experiment with screen print for a short term project, this is an ideal, affordable set up. It is particularly good for creating large scale works.

I am a painter who lives in Brooklyn and I have been using and sharing the shop for 8 years. I have a second studio at a different location and generally book the shop for about 2-3 days per month. I love working at the shop since it is private and has top of the line equipment. I work without interruption. It is by far the most affordable and convenient option for incorporating silkscreen printing with other studio techniques.
