About this Lister

Having played piano since the age of 4, I am very excited to be able to share my experience as both a classical performer and pedagogue! An advocate for musicians’ health and wellness, my teaching is based on an injury-preventive piano technique that incorporates sound biomechanics, neuroscience, and safe practice habits to keep my students healthy and happy at the instrument! As a certified yoga teacher, I also incorporate gentle stretching and exercises into my piano lessons for further injury prevention! But above all else, I believe that piano playing should bring joy and creativity to you or your child!

Background and Expertise

Originally from Rockland County, NY, I received my Piano Performance undergraduate degree from McGill University, and my Master’s in Piano Performance & Pedagogy with an Emphasis in Injury-Preventive Technique with renowned musician health advocate, Dr. Barbara Lister-Sink.

As a performer, I’ve played at Carnegie Hall as a first place winner of the Rondo Young Artist Competition and with the New York Summer Music Festival Orchestra as its Concerto Competition winner. As a soloist and pianist for multiple ensembles, I have performed at venues across the tri-state area including Lincoln Center, the Tenri Cultural Institute, Montclair State University, Maureen’s Jazz Cellar, and the Greenwich House.

As a pedagogue, I have over 15 years of piano teaching experience with ages from 8-78. I am a certified Lister-Sink Piano Technique teacher, which required teaching hours and observation, in addition to being a recipient of the Essentials of Performing Arts Medicine certificate, from the Performing Arts Medicine Association.

Additionally, for three years, I have helped retrain injured pianists and led 'yoga for pianists' classes at the annual Lister-Sink Institute’s piano workshop in Winston-Salem, NC.

Having recently completed my 200-hour Vinyasa Yoga certification, I have practiced yoga for over 10 years. I believe in the motto “motion is lotion” — meaning that movement is the key to a healthier lifestyle, especially for those who spend most of their days sitting at a desk or instrument!
