THE SPACE:
Private studio space within a larger subdivided commercial space. Tons of artists in the building--- Internet and electricity included.
(2) 8' windows facing North. The studio space itself is roughly 8x16' with an oversized entry through a 4'x8' sliding door.
Access to shared storage space, kitchenette, and tons of shared power tools, chop saw etc.
All common spaces, hallways, and the main entrance are equipped with 24-hour surveillance cameras.
THE BUILDING:
Long private alley with 2 loading docks and 2 freight elevators ---- FREE PARKING--- especially after 5 pm when businesses close. Plus an amazing roof!
We have an on-site building maintainer who tends to any operational requests as needed.
The interior hallways and exterior of the building are equipped with 24-hour surveillance cameras.
LOCATION:
52-05 Flushing Ave. at the intersection of Flushing and Metropolitan Ave. It is located right next to the Knockdown Center and many industrial suppliers: lumber, steel, Home Depot, and Grainger all 1/2 mile away. Tons of artists in the building-- we've been here for 11 years.
I am a native New Yorker and the manager of this space since 2014-- my studio is at the other end of this pictured hallway. I received my MFA from VCU in '14 and live nearby currently and make myself available 24/7 to anyone in the space.
The rest of the building is a mixture of artists, fabricators, and photo studios.
