I have a 1 bed / 1 bath apartment available for sublet. It is fully furnished, 6th floor (no upstairs neighbors). The building has some quirks but does have a working elevator. It’s a pre-war building so you have to take it as it comes.

The apartment itself is pest and rodent free, private, and gets lots of natural light. It’s quiet too. Hardwood floors, office space set up, and workout equipment for your enjoyment. 24-hour laundromat within 1 block. Full kitchen, full bathroom. 2/5 trains on the same block, walkable to the BQS trains. Brooklyn Botanic Garden nearby and walkable to Prospect Park. I tend to get groceries delivered as they’re a slight ~10min walk over to Lincoln Market or Western Beef. Plenty of bodegas around the corner.

Best suited for someone with NO PETS and NO SMOKING under any circumstances. You are super quiet, very clean, and respectful of the space and are willing to take on any costs for damage that occurs during your sublet. There will be a signed agreement to record this. It’d be very much appreciated if you were to water the plans every two weeks too.

I am FLEXIBLE on the end date of rental, if we find that it's the right fit and you want to stay longer just let me know and we can negotiate. Ideally I'm looking for someone to commit through to the end of the year (Dec 31st), but Sept 30th is also a possibility (with month to month thereafter). Please state your preference in your email. Depending on when flights are booked, there's potential to move-in a week or two sooner (for $80/day in March).

There are some charming coffee shops, quick bites, and int'l eateries nearby like Hamlet Coffee, Flatbush Bagel, HasenStuble, Jerusalem Falafel, De Hot Pot, Slow Loris, and many more.

About This Lister

I am an ex-pastry chef turned tech professional who recently moved to the UK to live with my fiance. I'm keeping the Brooklyn apartment to hold down the rent as long as I possibly can because it’s a great place, and we like to have the option to come back periodically to spend time in NYC. When I was in the apartment I enjoyed frequent walks to Prospect Park, and the local bars and cafes are fabulous.

The current tenant is a close friend who's residing in the apartment, and he will be the one to initially handle screening meetings and virtual tours (as I'm in the UK), then present one or two lovely prospects for me to meet.

Rental requirements

1st month’s rent ($2,500 that can be prorated depending on move-in date) and a $1,000 security deposit will be required up-front (deposit to be returned at end of rental after inspection if everything is fine).

I'd also ask that you go halfsies on a cleaning fee after the rental so we can both enjoy a squeaky clean home.

Rent includes gas, wifi, and electricity within reasonable use (especially as long you're not running A/C 24/7 over the summer!).
