Looking for a responsible person to sublet one bedroom apartment from March 15th to August 15th.
This apartment is on the 6th floor of a large, family-oriented apartment building (accessible via elevator and stairs). The apartment is quiet and receives natural lighting throughout the day. The apartment is fully furnished and subletter will have access to small closet for their personal items. The bedroom includes a full size bed and dresser. There is one full bathroom. The living room includes the kitchenette which includes stove, sink, fridge, and microwave.
Local transportation includes 8 min walking distance to Avenue M and Kings Hwy B/Q subway stops, 5 min walk to the B49, B100, B7, and B82 bus stops. Also located on Kings Hwy are restaurants, two pharmacies, a gym, and multiple grocery stores and the Kings Hwy Brooklyn Public Library branch.
Rent is $1850/mo, electric and wifi* NOT included in rent.
No pets - No vaping - No smoking of any kind*
This is perfect for anyone working on a short term project in NYC and needs a quiet working/living space this spring.
* I currently do not have wifi in the apartment and that will have to be set up if needed by guests.
* My cats are coming with me so this is not a pet sitting situation.
* I am asthmatic and sensitive to smoke so this is a non-negotiable house rule.
Hello,
I am the current tenant of this apartment and I have lived here for over 3 years and counting. I have worked in libraries for over 10 years now and enjoy working on research projects in the arts.
I am a quiet, tidy person and I enjoy living in this peaceful apartment. Over my time here, I have gotten to know the supers and my neighbors quite well. I deeply value community and respect and I expect the subletter to be respectful of this space and the others who live and work in this apartment building during their stay.
In an attempt to clear distractions from my already busy life I decided not to get wifi services for the apartment. I have found that this has helped strengthen my focus and reduce stress. I have no problem with setting up wifi for guests but I challenge those interested in subletting to try living without wifi in the apartment and try accessing resources from the local library instead which is a short 5 min walk down the road. It has changed my perspective and lifestyle in a positive, stable way and it may do the same for you.
I do have four cats. They are my priority and I make sure to keep the apartment clean and smell-free by changing the litters twice a day and sweeping and mopping the floors weekly. The cats will be with me while I am away but this may not be the best sublet for those with cat allergies.
I am the current tenant.
Subletter is responsible for following house rules. 1st month's rent ($1850) is due by March 7th. Early move in can be accomodated but no earlier than March 10th. Monthly rent is due on the 15th of every month (last rent due date is July 15th)
The electric bill is usually received around the 20th of each month and subletter will be notified of bill total for each month of their stay (March-April bill will be available around April 20th, April-May around May 20th etc). Subletter is still responsible for July-August electric bill even if bill arrives after August 15th move out.
A background check is also required.
Subletter will be held responsible for paying the full cost of repair of any damage to the apartment or the personal property within.
