Starting April 15*, I have a spacious room available for rent on the parlor floor of a two-bedroom Ditmas Park walk-up. You would be living with one other person (me). If you are a design lover looking to get some peace and quiet (for once!), take strolls, runs, and bike rides through the very green Brooklyn streets that lead to Prospect Park, this one might be for you. This is an LGBTQ+-friendly, vaccinated, nonsmoking household.
*Somewhat flexible on move-in date. Let's talk if you're looking for something a bit sooner than the 15th.
The apartment:
- Fully furnished common areas, with Dyson and SimpleHuman appliances
- A spare fitness room with a Peloton bike, which can be shared with a small monthly membership fee
- Large walk-in storage closet
- High ceilings
- Towering fiddle tree in a light-filled living room
- A porch, ideal for small dinner parties, BBQs, and people-/birdwatching
- Spacious kitchen with tons of counter space
- Intricately detailed hardwood floors, moulding, and French doors
- No TV or washer/dryer (for now)
The room:
- Your own walk-in closet (and another closet within that closet)
- Private entrance
- Three large, glorious windows, and enough light to turn this into your own green sanctuary
- Ideal for photographers and creatives looking for studio space

The neighborhood:
- 5 min walk to Cortelyou BQ train
- A stone's throw from Lea, Mimi's Hummus, Victorian Cafe, Bad Therapy, and Natural Frontier Market. Also right around the corner: Flatbush Food Co-op, Farmer's Market (every Sunday), laundromat, dry cleaner, Cafe Tibet, Sycamore (Bar and Flower Shop)
- 10-15 min walk to Prospect Park with stunning Victorian mansions lining the streets
Monthly costs
- $1650 (plus utilities)
Sorry, I am allergic to cats :( and landlord has a no-dog policy at this time.
I'm Colin (he/him), a 34-year-old writer, editor, and marketing person. To quote Ellen, yep, I'm gay! Schedule is subject to change, but I anticipate I will be splitting my work week between home and office. Outside of work, I enjoy running laps around Prospect Park, dining, going to movies/shows, and interior designing. I would never describe myself as a "neat freak," but I do appreciate a clean, clutter-free home. I tend to vibe best with creatives and socially conscious people.
I am a current tenant
This will be treated as a ~three-month sublease with the possibility of extending come July 1. Security deposit and first month's rent required ahead of move-in.
Be prepared to show bank statements/proof of employment upon building owner's request.
