Hi there,
I just signed a lease on this really nice 2bd1ba apartment in Silver Lake. I had a friend who was meant to live with me but she had something come up, so posting the room here.
It's walking distance (like 5 min) to Sunset, near Los Globos area (Sunset and Vendome - ish). The building itself is four units, two upstairs and two downstairs. This is a bottom floor unit.
Despite being close to Sunset, it is very quiet and peaceful. The building is old and has charming details, though the landlord just renovated it with recessed lighting all on dimmers, new fridge, new washer/dryer, new bathroom, and generally just new paint and thorough cleaning.
It's a charming space in a great area. The total rent is $3200. I am renting this room for $1500, as I have the larger room and the sole parking spot (though the neighborhood is permitted, as mentioned). If you want the parking spot I'm happy to discuss. But otherwise it's $1500 (plus utilities tbd) - the room is fairly small and there is no closet in the room, though there is a huge closet right across the hall that will be yours, and there is also the living room and a front and back yard that you can work/hangout in (outdoor space is shared, but according to the landlord it's hardly ever utilized by other tenants).
I'm open to living with most people - just let me know if you're interested, a bit about yourself, and we can find time to figure out if it's a good fit.
The room is available Dec. 1, though open to a variety of timelines if you can't make it work that soon. Potentially open to shorter terms stays too, but the room is totally unfurnished.
Thanks,
Jack
I am 28yo male in my 2nd year of Chinese Medicine school. Before that I worked in the arts and technology. I moved to LA from Brooklyn in January. I am easy going and pretty relaxed about most things, though I'd like the apartment to be relatively calm and clean most of the time. I will be commuting to my school on the west side 3-4 days a week and typically have a few online classes I take at home. When not in school I am typically with friends, seeing music, spending time outside, surfing, chilling and just trying to enjoy life.

I am the sole person on the lease and I don't believe you need to sign on. Though the Landlord does want to know who is living in the building. But I don't believe you need to go through a formal application process... though we can draw up some sort of contract between the two of us after we talk.
