Hi! I'm looking for a roommate to move into the second, smaller bedroom in my extremely charming 2BR apartment on 40th Street in Sunset Park.

The apartment is on the second floor of a 4-unit building at 40th St/9th Ave. The landlord lives on the ground floor and is nice/generally attentive. The unit is really sunny--windows in every room!--and spacious, with a big eat-in kitchen and sizable living room. The bedroom itself is small (I’d recommend a full size mattress) but really bright with a big east-facing window, closet, and ceiling fan. You can see in the pics that there's a cute little view of the back courtyard/garden where a couple of street cats like to hang out :)

Extremely close to the D train, which runs express and gets to Atlantic Barclay's/lower Manhattan super quickly. On the other side of the park (15 min walk or so) you can access the N/R as well. We're right by Greenwood Cemetery and 2.5 blocks from the park! Brooklyn Chinatown is only one avenue over and features amazing and affordable food/grocery options. There is a bread bakery on the block and several cafes just around the corner.

If you're new to Sunset Park, it's an incredibly vibrant neighborhood with a rich history of mixed immigrant cultures and cooperative living (first ever cooperative buildings built by dock workers in the early 20th century!). The apartment itself is closest to Chinatown, though also in walking distance of incredible Mexican/mixed Latin American food places and a short bike/train-ride away from Little Palestine just a bit farther south :)

Cultivating a warm and nourishing home is really important to me. I'm clean and value cleanliness, conscientiousness, and direct communication in a roommate. Definitely looking for someone who is down to chat/cook/hang occasionally and also values space and alone time!
