This apartment is a real gem! It’s so rare to find a place in NYC that actually feels like a comfortable home.

Looking for 1 great roommate to share this gigantic space with me. It’ll be you, me, my very awesome dog Moose, and the plants.

The Apartment:
• 3BR on the 2nd floor of a 4-story walk-up (quiet, friendly neighbors).
• Great location in the heart of Bed-Stuy: Halsey St. btwn Tompkins and Throop – lots of restaurants, bars, coffee shop and pizza across the street, grocery store and bodega down the block, Herbert Von King Park is a 10min walk. Subway (A/C) 2 blocks away.
• Layout: Long hallway connects the kitchen to the living room, with bedrooms in between. My bedroom & middle room (current gym) share a wall. 3rd bedroom is on the opposite side of the apt.
• Available Room: you pick! I’d prefer to find someone who wants the bedroom on the other side of the apartment (smaller, but still fits a Queen bed) so we can have more privacy. But I’m also willing to move the gym to that room if you’d like a bigger room.
• Living Room: Huge, bright space with lots of plants, awesome soundsystem, big record collection, 11ft projector screen for movie theater experience. Doubles as the dining room — a nice space for dinner parties with friends.
• Kitchen: Full-size appliances, dishwasher, tons of counter space and storage, stocked with chef-worthy kitchen gear.
• Gym: Peloton, plenty of room to stretch out for yoga, Pilates, weights, and foam-rolling.
• Extras: Fire escape hammock, sunny front stoop, freezer is always stocked with sourdough waffles, secret rooftop access for a great view of the skyline.
• Utilities: ~$80/mo per person for WiFi/gas/electric. Option to split streaming and Peloton subscriptions as well.

The Deal:
• Looking for 1 roommate (no couples), ideally through end of lease August 31. Open to shorter sublets. Potential to sign the next lease with me if we’d like to continue the arrangement.
• 1st month’s rent + security deposit.

About Me:
• 38yr old, liberal, straight, white male. Friendly, clean but not a neat freak, low-key, fun. Favorite spot in the neighborhood is the jazz bar down the street.
• Originally from Wisconsin and Upstate NY. I’ve lived in Brooklyn for 11yrs. Been in this apt for 6yrs, mostly with roomies, solo for the last 18mo. I’ve had 12 roomies in 3 NYC apartments (8 female, 4 male).
• Veterinary anesthesia nurse. Side-hustles in restaurants and urban agriculture. Recently transitioned from working full-time in surgery at hospitals to working from home as a consultant for vets + medical device sales + relief shifts in hospitals.
• My dog Moose (4yr old, 60lb catahoula leopard dog) is super friendly, chill, loves fetch and long walks to the farmer’s market.
• Most past roommates have become good friends of mine. No pressure, but I’m hoping that lucky streak continues!
