Located in Bedford-Stuyvesant this is a triplex unit with a backyard on a tree-lined street in a charming and genuine Brooklyn neighborhood. A 5 minute walk to the C Train, 7 min to J Train, 10 min to A Train. It regularly takes me 35-45 to Midtown. The apartment has a Full Kitchen, Washer/Dryer, Dishwasher, Living Room and the basics are all in place for life and privacy. The room itself, hardwood floors, a full-sized futon bed, an optional desk, and plenty of shelving for your personal effects. We keep the place professionally cleaned on a regular basis.
**IMPORTANT FACT : I use this apartment as our workweek living space and there is another tenant that keeps professional hours. Laurie (and our two small pups) will occassionally drop in for a weekend adventure but are more special guest stars rather than recurring characters. We are all entertainment industry professionals so it is mostly empty over the weekend depending on show schedules. IT IS A 1 & 1/2 BATHROOM APARTMENT so the shower is shared Monday-Thursday but it is manageable and in a plot twist there are actually two showers in the main bathroom if you prefer to have your own unshared bathing space. There is another W/C on the main floor with toilet and sink. We also use the main living space for morning workouts but this can be negotiated if it is a problem. We are early-to-bed/early-to-rise people so this is not party central by any means. We have aged gracefully out of our disco days. THIS IS AN IDEAL SITUATION FOR WORKING PROFESSIONALS ON SHORT-TERM STAYS**
We are James and Laurie and are entertainment industry design and craft professionals that lead busy busy lives. Our days start early and we tend to be home around dark. We are generally fun and lively but we can get pretty worn down through the week so often just retreat to our room after dinner. We are basically almost never at the apartment and often it is just James' sleep pad. We have traveled extensively so know what visitors need when away from home. We are clean and fairly organized but not neat freaks by any standard. We have lived in this apartment for 8 years so know the neighborhood and many of the people in it.
As I said before, this is ideally suited for another professional staying in town for a limited time that needs ready access to NYC/Brooklyn but tell us your story and we will listen! Travelers welcome! If it matters to you, we are a straight married couple but have spent our lives in service of the arts so are universal allies. The only thing we don't tolerate is intolerance.. and late loud parties during the week at the home.
