Co-op building on the cusp of Central/East Harlem on 116th St. & Madison Ave. Residents are a mix of working-class & creatives in a quiet, respectful and non-smoking building. We have a small but sun-filled 3rd-floor studio, big enough for bed, seating and a kitchen table of the right size. The building is old, therefore we favor quiet residents who will walk softly and play music at low levels. Not conducive for party-lovers or shouters. Otherwise, we're fairly laid-back. There's a community garden on the block and it's an easy commute to pretty much anywhere thanks to ample subway and bus lines. Whole Foods, Trader Joe's a 10 min walk away & two local grocery stores are a block away. Laundromat two doors down; no in-unit washer/dryers.
Self-managed co-op trying to stay afloat in a busy city with big taxes and even bigger water bills. We aim for long-term fiscal responsibility for the building while trying to keep things as affordable as possible.
Co-op board
A year-lease will be required for any approved applicants. Please provide proof of annual income, your rental history and be prepared with references. Co-op board interview required as a final step.
