Our sweet space is on the first floor, and it's available for eight nights in December. Holiday dinner, anyone? The dining room table can accommodate 8 guests.
The apartment has two large windows that look out onto Adelphi Street. Recently scaffolding has been put up (waaaa) but there is still visibility to the street and a comfortable feel. The scaffolding is not really a game changer. We are just steps away from Myrtle Avenue, and we're close to Willoughby Avenue (pedestrian only).... and the lovely, festive Ft. Greene Park. We are .5 miles from the Dekalb Ave. Subway station. There's a Citibike rack across the street!
Two interior windows (kitchen and dining area) face an inner courtyard (no access). There is an ample dining and kitchen area with a gas stove, an updated refrigerator and a great dishwasher. Wooden cabinets are stocked with everything you need for cooking and baking. We'll leave staples and spices!
The spacious living room has soundproof, frosted doors that can be closed to make the space feel separate. There's a good- enough TV, a bookshelf filled with our favorite reads, comfortable chairs, and an L shaped foldout couch (it becomes a double bed). We have a new Roland piano! This room can easily work as a bedroom.
The real bedroom is at the back of the apartment, with a high quality queen size bed, a closet, and a dresser. There's a good shower/bath and modern bathroom fixtures. The whole space is fully and tastefully furnished. Linens are included. We're hoping you'll keep our houseplants watered, and we know you'll like the tiny couch that faces the stately dining room table (round, with 4 chairs) in the main living area. There are hardwood floors and high quality, clean rugs. There's roof access... 6 floors up... it's worth the climb! WiFi and utilities are included.
We will leave the apartment sparkling clean for you!
We'd like to share our space for these 8 and a half days with a few sweet people who will treat our home kindly and enjoy the space. If you're a cook, you'll love this apartment! The dining room table has two homemade leaves that can be inserted to accommodate up to 8 people at the table. I mean, a holiday dinner would be fantastic here!
I am a 60 something Montessori teacher/artist/mom, relocated to NYC from Minneapolis, MN. I teach English at a Mandarin Immersion Montessori in Williamsburg. My husband and I moved to Brooklyn in 2021 to engage in NYC life and continue to cultivate our work lives. He's an actor with work in both cities. We maintain our home in Minneapolis, and visit there often to work, play, and be with family and friends. But New York has a hold on us. We take in a lot of theater, museums, and outdoor spaces. We bike everywhere. We frequent the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Prospect Park, and BAM and go to Manhattan often.
We love this apartment building, and we've got a long term lease. We will carefully choose those who stay here so that we can feel comfortable sharing our sweet home.
I am the current tenant, along with my husband.
We'll ask you to sign an agreement. We're hoping you'll want to rent for the whole time. We can't change the start and end dates. A damage deposit of $200 will go toward the stay. Two recent references from places you've stayed (such as vacation rental reviews) or people you've rented from are required.
