Studio is furnished with a queen sized bed (Casper mattress), a full-sized couch and ottoman, a dresser, a high-top kitchen table, work area and TV. There is a full-sized fridge in the kitchen, and the kitchen is fully stocked with glasses/plates/all cooking utensils. There is also a foldable treadmill that fits under the bed for your use (walk/run).
The unit is on the second floor and there is no elevator. There is no laundry in the building but there are three laundromats within a one block radius and I can also recommend a pick-up and drop-off service if you prefer.
The closet and dresser will be emptied. I will also clear off shelf space on the walls, though most of the books will be staying (great for a reader!).
Sheets, towels and additional blankets will be available. There is an AC for anyone staying in the summer months. Apartment also has a space heater, air purifier, and a Dyson cordless vacuum.
Most of the plants will be staying (I will ask you to water those once a week or so - they're pretty hard to kill).
The apartment is in a quieter part of Crown Heights, but there are local grocery stores and bodegas within a 5 minute walk, as well as some cafes. Most bars are a bit further away on Nostrand (15 min walk), but the apartment very close to many buses and trains. It's also a 7 minute walk to Brower Park.
Transportation:
- 7 minute walk from the 3 train at Kingston
- 10 minute walk from the express 4 train at Utica
- Close to the B45, B43, B65 and the B46 as well
All utilities are included in the rental price.
I'm looking for someone to stay a minimum of 3 months, but priority will go to anyone who is looking for an 8-12 month stay.
I can be flexible on the start and end date - the apartment can potentially be available as early as mid-December, and I might end up staying away from the city for longer than October.
I'm a writer working in tech and I'm currently trying to publish my first novel. I've been living in this apartment for the past four years. I'm taking a year off from New York to explore the US a bit more, but intend on returning towards the end of the year.
This space is very special to me, and I'm looking for someone who will treat it like their own. I love the neighborhood, and have friends in my building who I can put you in touch with in case you have any issues, or need connections in New York.
