Entire second floor of a quiet, classic 3-story building, fully furnished, accessible via stairs only. Located on a quiet street in the heart of Greenpoint. Old hardwood floors.
The spacious light-filled living room and the small home office are facing the street, the bedroom with king size bed is facing the luscious backyard with trees. You fall asleep to the sound of crickets during the summer months.
From the bedroom you walk down two steps to the bathroom, which also has plenty of daylight. From there you get to the fully equipped kitchen, where two windows overlook the backyard.
It is important that you keep noise at a minimum, in particular during night hours - the building is very old, and poorly sound-insulated, both upstairs and downstairs neighbors are respectful of that fact. Always take your shoes off, for the same reason. We are looking for a quiet and respectful person, parties are not allowed.
The apartment comes with a few plants, which require watering once a week.
There is no washer/dryer, but there is a laundry service a couple of blocks down the street, as well as home pick-up cleaning services. No dishwasher, but a Breville Espresso machine.
No smoking in the entire building. No pets.
All utilities (gas, electric, Wi-Fi) are included.
The apartment is located in the vibrant and sought-after neighborhood of Greenpoint, just one block from the waterfront, which features a new park with stunning city views. Some of the city's best restaurants are within walking distance, as well as a large and trendy selection of cafes, shops, and bakeries.
Easy access to the NYC ferry Greenpoint landing, Manhattan is just one stop away. Greenpoint G stop is the closest, the Bedford L stop is about a 15 minute walk away. B32 bus stop is one block away.
I am a German architect living in New York and Costa Rica, together with my Brazilian wife. I have been living in the apartment for almost 20 years, and witnessed the rapid gentrification of the neighborhood. There are only 3 rental units in the building, the relationship with the neighbors is very respectful and friendly.
I am the tenant, and looking to sublease while my wife and I are in Costa Rica for a few months.
